There are few things I love more than merch. There is something about branded items (especially when they are free) that brings me joy. This love of receiving and owning merch has grown into a true passion for designing it. Whether to be used as free giveaways, sold in company stores, given to staff and/or team members, or any other use I can’t think of at the moment, I am always excited to brainstorm different ideas and create amazing looking items. You can take a look at some of the merch items I have designed below and be sure read about the projects by clicking here: A Bit More About the Projects.
A Bit More About the Projects
Mono/Poly
I worked with the production team behind the World Premiere live theatrical performance of Mono/Poly on all of their marketing materials. From key art to mailers, digital ads to interview videos, and an online character quiz to merch, I created a lot of media for the show. I created the trading cards, tattoos, tote bag, and buttons as giveaways for a Seed & Spark campaign that ended up not happening due to the team securing funding before the campaign launch. We ended up using these items as Instagram contest giveaways and the buttons and tattoos were on the tables at the premiere after party for people to take with them along with their leftovers! You can read more about the campaign and learn a bit about my design process here: Mono/Poly Marketing Campaign.
Krav Maga Unleashed T-Shirt Concepts
I created these designs for Krav Maga Unleashed in the summer of 2021. They wanted unique tees to sell in their store with the idea that they would change with each season.
Public Discourse
I created the logo for these wooden tokens for Boston Court Performing Arts Center. After select performances, audience members would receive a token they could exchange for one free drink at a local pub (T. Boyle’s Tavern in Pasadena, CA). The idea was to encourage the audience to discuss their experiences and thoughts about the show after it ended—to keep the conversation going, so to speak.
JAG Gym Preschool Ribbons
I created these ribbons to be given out to students in the various preschool classes at JAG Gym. Each class was named after an animal, so I illustrated the animals on the sides of this image then created each as a one color design to be printed in gold foil on different colored ribbons. The Cheetahs ended up being more like a competitive pre-team which is why the illustrated version is wearing a leotard. I created additional animal illustrations for JAG Gym, some were used on printed and digital materials and were never printed on ribbons. If you’d like to see the additional illustrations I made for the preschool classes, you can check them out here: Illustration.
JAG Gym #roadtorio Staff Tees
I created these staff shirts for the summer of 2016 during the Rio Summer Olympics. I took the text from the pre-existing JAG Gym logo and created a design that resembled the Olympic torch from that year. I utilized colors from the Olympic rings as well as the Brazil flag. I carried this design over to other marketing materials during that summer as well as the 2016 Summer Camp brochure. You can view that project here: JAG Gym 2016 Summer Camp Brochure.
