Below you can see a few examples of my editing and motion graphics work. I have included a bit about each project below the gallery. To go directly to the descriptions, click here: A Bit More About the Projects.
A Bit More About the Projects
Motion Graphics / Animation Reel
This reel includes the following projects at the noted timestamps. If you open the video in YouTube, you can click on the timestamps to jump to any of the projects you want to see first.
0:00 End titles for the award-winning short film, Origin of a Hero, a serio-comedic take on the Batman origin story. I had free reign to create the end titles, so I decided to lean into the comic book style for the illustrations and titles.
0:56 Opening animation for a short social media ad for the Boston Court performance of With Love and a Major Organ. The idea was to introduce the audience to the character of Mona. The playwright used poetic language to describe her in the script, so I decided to showcase that description in this animation. To view the entire video, select the “With Love and a Major Organ” teaser video from the gallery.
1:26 The outro for lessons on the website for TheBridgeTeachers.com. I created an intro, outro, and short intro and outro tags for their lessons.
1:40 A short edited-down clip from an interview for TheBridgeTeachers.com.
All the Pretty Little Horses
I created this music video as a spooky post for Halloween. This is a lullaby I have found creepy since I heard it a few years back. I wrote the harmonies, performed the song, and edited it all together, adding visual and audio effects. I created the main audio effect you hear during transitions from one shot to another by speeding up a gun shot sound from an audio library I own.
With Love and a Major Organ Teaser video
I created this video to be posted on social media as an ad for Boston Court’s performance of With Love and a Major Organ. The show uses poetic language to describe the characters, so I created an animation to convey that description (this part of the video is also included in my Motion Graphics / Animation Reel). The second part of the video is Bonita Friedericy (who played Mona) performing a short excerpt from the show where she is at a virtual speed dating event. I played around with the visual look of the video to make it look lower quality as if it was being streamed through a computer.
Mono/Poly Interviews
When the creative team behind the live theatrical production of Mono/Poly decided to put on their world premiere (after a successful workshop performance in 2017), they hired a production team to shoot interviews with the writer/director, a couple previous cast members, and an expert in polyamory. Those videos were edited into a teaser for use in a fundraising campaign. When it came time to put that campaign together, they realized they needed more specific videos to answer prospective funders’ questions. As the interviews were not recorded with that in mind, I went through all of the raw footage and pulled various clips that I felt gave important information funders would want to know and then edited them together.
I worked with the production team to create all of their marketing/advertising materials, including key art, digital media, and merch.
